Dr. Bakthavachalam is a Senior Consultant Vascular Surgeon. He Started his journey as junior consultant at St. Isabel’s since 1996. He is associated with MCC college Tamil Nadu govt. super specialty hospital as head of the dept in vascular and endovascular sciences. He has nearly 20 years of experience in Endo Vascular procedures for Re-vascularisation of diabetic foot, and other atherosclerotic vascular occlusion to prevent major amputation. His other areas of interest include creating of vascular access for dialysis for CKD patients, manage complications of AV fistula like pseudo aneurism, central Venus hypertension, all bypass procedures for limb devascularisation and vascular injury, Management in trauma cases to prevent amputation, Venus disorders, Endo Venus procedures and open surgical Venus procedures for varicose veins etc. it does not stop there, he is also an expert in Management of DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis), IVC filter incision to prevent pulmonary embolism.
