Dr. Jalaja Ramesh is a Senior Consultant Diabetologist working at St. Isabel hospital as a senior consultant diabetologist for past 15 years, specially trained to manage gestational diabetes and diabetes complicated pregnancies. She has been practicing medicine for the past 32 years; she completed her M.B.B.S at Madras Medical College in the year 1989, completed her Diplomate National Board (Medicine) in the year 1993, DCP in the year 1997, completed her postgraduation in diabetology, underwent training programs for management of diabetes by both WHO and PHFI (Public health foundation). She is a certified diabetic specialist and pregnancy diabetes specialist. Recently completed post-graduation course in “Advanced diabetes” at Harvard Medical School – Boston in the year 2022. Received the most prestigious “Blue ring” award from International diabetic federation and best patient care award from Lions club. She has been a speaker in various National conferences on diabetes and has chaired in various symposia on gestational diabetes. Has trained more than 200 nurses on insulin techniques – insulin workshop along with B.D company. She is a member of the advisory board for the scientific committee in pharma companies, released booklets such as “Managing diabetes”, “Managing gestational diabetes”, “Hypertension” and “Live healthy with diabetes”. Currently writing a text book – “Healthy coping with gestational diabetes”, she is a member of “American Diabetes Association”, “Indian Diabetes Association”, “Diabetes Foot Society”, “RSSDI (Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India)”, “Research gate”, “Young Diabetic Registry” and “DIPSI (Diabetes in Pregnancy Study Group in India)”. She has published more than ten research papers in various peer viewed journals.
